Stock tracking

Stock that updates when you take an order

Turn on stock for an item in your WISMO catalogue and the count goes down as you take orders for it, comes back if an order is cancelled or returned, and warns you when it’s running low. There’s no separate inventory app to keep in step with your orders, because the orders are the stock record. Free on every plan.

Sound familiar?

Why the stock sheet is always wrong

  • Your stock lives in a spreadsheet, your orders live in chats, and keeping the two in step depends on remembering to update both.

  • You sell the last one in person while someone else is ordering it in your DMs.

  • A cancelled order means remembering to add the item back, and it rarely happens.

  • Inventory software built for warehouses wants barcodes, locations and purchase orders when you sell from a shelf at home.

Stock tracking

How stock works in WISMO

  • Counts that follow your orders

Stock goes down when an order is taken, follows quantity edits, and comes back on a cancel, return or delete.

  • Low-stock alerts

Set a “warn me at” level for each item. You get a push and an alert in the app, and the evening digest lists what’s running low.

  • Add stock in one tap

Add a delivery (+12) or set a counted number after a stocktake.

  • Stock history

See every change for an item: which order took it, what came back and every restock.

  • A running-low view

Filter your catalogue to tracked items, or to just the ones running low.

  • Sold out on your store page

An item at zero shows Sold out on your store page.

How it works

  1. 1

Open an item in your catalogue, turn on Track stock and enter how many you have.

  2. 2

Take orders as usual, picking the item from your catalogue. The count goes down by the quantity ordered.

  3. 3

Restock with Add stock when a delivery arrives, and check the Running low list before you reorder.

Common questions

Is WISMO an inventory management system?

It’s simple stock tracking for the things you sell, tied to your orders. There are no barcodes, warehouses or purchase orders. If you sell from a shelf, a studio or a spare room, that is usually all you need.

Can I track sizes and colours?

Add each size or colour you stock as its own catalogue item, for example “Linen set, M, sage”. Each one keeps its own count and alert level.

What happens if I take an order for something that’s out of stock?

WISMO warns you when you pick an item that’s low or out, but it never blocks the order, because made-to-order and pre-order sellers often take orders before the stock exists.

Can I track materials or ingredients?

Not yet. Stock counts apply to the items you sell. Tracking the materials that go into them is a possible next step.
